Melissa James
Principal Hand Therapist
With over 25 years experience in hand therapy Melissa has had a passion for hand therapy since graduating from the University of Queensland in 1991. She began her career working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Hand Unit for seven years before moving into the private sector. Melissa gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation in 1999. She has lectured to both undergraduate and post-graduate occupational therapists at the University of Queensland.

She has also lectured widely to therapists in regional Queensland on numerous topics relating to hand therapy and presented at state and national conferences. Melissa has been a long-term course presenter for the Australian Hand Therapy Association’s Certificate Courses, training other hand therapists in the fabrication of splints. She has a special interest in treating musicians hand problems and especially enjoys treating children.

Jamison Macdonald
Jamison developed a keen interest in hand therapy whilst completing two of his final year clinical placements for his Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Bayside Hand Therapy, before joining our team in 2019. Jamison is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

He is continuing to hone his specialised hand therapy skills through professional development courses and a mentoring program, whilst working towards becoming an Accredited Hand Therapist. Jamison has a special interest in the treatment of sports injuries of the hand and upper limb. His open and friendly manner makes him popular with clients of all ages. He has been a local in the bayside area for 10 years; enjoying rugby and boating and fishing in the local waterways.

Lincoln James
After graduating from the Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Lincoln began his hand therapy career working at the Cairns Hand Clinic where he enjoyed treating a wide range of hand injuries and conditions. In 2022 Lincoln returned to Brisbane to join the team at Bayside Hand Therapy.

Lincoln is an associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association and is currently working towards becoming an accredited hand therapist. Having studied clarinet at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music before commencing his occupational therapy degree, Lincoln has a special interest in the treatment of musician's hand problems.

In his spare time, Lincoln enjoys running, cycling, playing squash and fishing.
Donna Cox
Administration
Donna joined our team in 2020. She is the superwoman who keeps the practice running smoothly and efficiently. Donna loves interacting with people and her warm and gentle nature ensures all our patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive. Outside of work Donna enjoys yoga and crochet and her 2 teenage boys keep her busy on weekends.
